Operator receives first ever waiver for flight over people with parachute with ParaZero's SafeAir
As seen in the news, drones equipped with ParaZero’s SafeAir system received the first FAA waiver for flight over people with a parachute system. The flights were conducted during the tailgating event prior to the North Dakota State University vs South Dakota State football game at the FargoDome on September 29, 2018. This is the first ever approval for a Phantom drone to operate freely over people and provided the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and media outlets with unique aerial coverage of the stadium premises.
How does it work?
ParaZero’s SafeAir system uses independent sensors to constantly monitor and analyze the drone’s flight data and flight patterns. Critical drone failures are immediately identified, triggering a series of safety measures at unmatched speed:
TOP ROTORS
Rotors are immediately stopped to avoid laceration injuries and entanglement with the parachute’s cords.
DEPLOY PARACHUTE
A parachute is activated, aided by a patented parachute launcher to fully open the canopy in a fraction of a second.
SOUND ALARM
Optional: Audio warning buzzer warns bystanders below about incoming danger from above giving them ample time to move out of harm’s way.
LAND SAFELY
Saved by the autonomous parachute system the drone is brought safely to ground avoiding injuries to bystanders, and damage to property, equipment and payload.
ANALYZE INCIDENT
Analysis of data on black-box can be used to create post incident report.
